when you are not on the computer, you get a million different track ideas to put on your MP3 player. but when you get on the computer, you either get second thoughts of the tracks you have in mind, or can't think of any.

Dates back to 1850, but the exact origin is unknown. One theory is that it comes from the theater world, where musicians were in a pit in front of the stage, so "to face the music" was to turn towards the audience. Another theory says it comes from a Civil War military ceremony where an officer that is about to be cashiered is literally drummed out.

Experimental music is used to describe music that pushes against their boundaries or definitions, or else whose approach is a hybrid of disparate styles, or incorporates unorthodox, new, distinctly unique ingredients. Similarly, it has sometimes been used to describe "transethnic" music: the mixture of recognizable music genres.
