When someone gets kicked to the curb for somewhat valid reasons by either someone close to them or a group they were involved with without a fair warning or second chance, much like how thrash metal band Megadeth's founder Dave Mustaine was previously kicked out of heavy metal titan Metallica in a rather harsh and unfair fashion for drug use, alcoholism, and his behavior when under the influence. Double points if the person(s) doing the Mustaining do the same exact thing(s) they are Mustaining the other person for.

Guy: They said I was an asshole and I wasn't as fun to be around anymore. I mean I was kind of an asshole at times but at the same time we all kinda were to each other. If they had gotten serious with me and said something I would have changed. Kind of uncalled for and out of the blue.
