When you take a shit that smells horrible and you spray a bunch of febreeze and it only mixes with the smell and creates shittriss.

When your neighbor comes over to use the bathroom and it smells like raw sewage but you spray a fuck ton of febreeze and it creates a pungent shit cocktail that can only be explained as shittriss.

A Shitternship is an internship which teaches you absolutely nothing, gets you nowhere by the time you've finished it and one where your spending your own money without getting paid.

Heres an example with fictional characters.

Bobby:I'm sick of this internship shit!
linda: Why whats wrong?
Bobby: All I've been doing is buying coffee for them with my own money, buying doughnuts for them with my own money and picking up their dry cleaning with my own money!. They haven't even paid me once!
