Used to describe a public preoccupation with matters of an emotional, sexual, or other such nature. Most noticeable when a member of a social group is distracted or despondent whilst thinking about their object of desire, despite hi-jinks or drunken revels by the majority. Also pertinent to those who have been dumped, are dumping someone, have been rejected etc.

"Where did Steve go? I thought he was getting a taxi with us?"
"Nah, he went off on an emo quest about half an hour ago"

"Is Jason coming tonight?"
"I hope not, all he talks about at the moment is Rebecca. He's on a total emo quest"

Get the Dungeon Quest mug.A game series marketed initially by Sierra On-Line and is now owned by Vivendi Universal, originally made during the 1980s and early 1990s that was really cool until the fifth installment, when it just became damn near impossible to solve without a strategy guide. They attempted to re-market Kings Quest 7 for preteen girls, but it wound up being played primarily by 19-year-old boys who thought Princess Rosella was hot, or had a "cougar crush" on Queen Valanice - who is now believed to be directly responsible for the Ashton Kutcher-Demi Moore inspired era of young men dating middle-aged women.
King's Quest was really cool in the '80s when I was growing up, but by the end of the '90s they destroyed it.
