Get the pulling a swiftymug. To shut down the internet in an attempt to restore order and regain control. Coined from Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak's attempt to silence the Egyptian people during the 2011 Egyptian riots.
"Pull a Mubarak": The school administrators realized that we'd been using the computers to do non work-related tasks like checking Facebook and playing games, so they pulled a Mubarak on us all.

Get the pull a jarredmug. To have brought someone on board or associated yourself with someone whose embarrassing behavior makes you look bad and brings your character/judgement into question. Ultimately the choice to include this person leads ridicule and failure. This is in reference to McCain bringing on Sarah Palin as a running mate in the 2008 elections.

Get the Pull A Sharpiemug. Posing a surprising, alarming and chaos inducing threat and then taking it back, hence making a fool of oneself. Also known as "pulling a GAP"
Named after the Greek Prime Minister (2009 to 2011) George A. Papandreou (or GAP) and his attempt to call a national referendum on the agreement achieved between his country and the EU on 27th November 2011, regarding the greek national debt.
The attempt resulted in widespread political chaos threatening the eurozone and the EU itself with collapse, before Papandreou backed down claiming that, really guys, he just wanted to scare the opposition a little bit.
The move prompted his ridicule and his resignation, a short week later.

The term patio pull originated in Newport Beach, CA circa 2008 and was made famous by the large number of girls walking up and down the Balboa Peninsula. Balboa Boulevard and Ocean Front Street are two of the best places to find quality Patio Pulls.
Patio Pulls range in all ages but typically are 21-35 years in age and often times are visiting or on vacation. It is proper etiquette not to "Pull" anything that appears to be under 21. The average volume of Patio Pulls is highest June through August but has been know to swell in the September and October months as well.
