Harcore

"Har" is one half of "har har" which signifies laughing. "Core" is the middle, essence, or center of something.

"Harcore" therefore was intended to represent the idea of "half-of-one-laugh in the center" or "One half-laugh in the center".

I know you've all heard Kurt Ballou's recordings and I think we can all agree that they're much too harcore sounding -- and that's one half-laugh in the center too much for me.

hardcore

harcore is influcenced by real punk and real metal(I'm not trying to say that the genre is fake by the way my just saying it's a branch off), this genre mixes both which overall makes some half decent music. but its a genre that has suddenly become very popluar and you can't tell the posers from the truely hardcore kids. But the thing that worries me about harcore is its branch off is EMO!

some hardcore bands are: Walls Of Jericho, Terror, Madball, Comeback Kid, Bleeding Through.

Hardcore Growl

The opposite of a hardcore scream. A hardcore growl is a low, rumbling sound in the throat. It works better with grindcore or emo-core style music. Not so much on the level of regular screamo. For example: You couldn't growl to a Rise Against song. However, the screaming done my Alesana works well because they're more hardcore.
