Gay Washing

Gay ɡā Washing ˈwäSHiNG - The act of altering source material and misinterpreting cannon of character or story to fit a LGBTQ+ narrative. Usually after the founder, or the previous owner has either died, or signed the company over to new owners.

Person 1: "I was reading in an article recently that this character was actually secretly gay, the funny thing is that the original author never mentioned it, or left anything for interpretation in the book to make me believe this."
Person 2: "Well this is a classic case of "Gay Washing". Now that (Walt Disney/J.R.R Tolkein/Stan Lee) has passed its easy to proclaim that in a news article, now that the creator has passed away."

black washing

Same thing as white washing but for Blacks.

White racist people : Jesus was blond haired, fair skinned, and blue eyed.
Black racist people : Jesus was Black.
The rest of the world : Nobody cares, but at least try to be historically correct, Jesus was a Middle Easterner, so nor White, neither Black.

So yes black washing exists, and it is offensive as white washing.
