The character of Jack implies to Lucy that she and her macho yet blundering neighbor must be interested in each other because he gave her flowers and then she "leaned". She is somewhat annoyed by this and so he explains more about what leaning is: "It was a lot different from hugging. Hugging's very different. Hugging that involves arms and hands; and leaning is whole bodies moving in like this (leans toward her suggestively) Leaning involves wanting, and accepting... leaning".
