The hood or anything close to it. A place where your trash is plastic bags from the local grocery store, your neighbors are junkies, and you hesitate to go out at night. A place where struggle is an every day ting, even though sometimes you may not even realize it's there.

Example 1. "The digs humbled me, the digs made me a tougher person."

Example 2. Ol' Man - "Ayo, lil man. Ye son I'm talking to you. Where you coming from?"

Lil Man - "What's good ol' man, I'm from the digs uptown on Webster Ave. Got off the D train 'bout

five minutes ago. Who's askin?"

Ol' Man - "Don't worry about it boy. Just remember that a dog neva dig where he ain't got nothin to dig fo'."

Birthday digs

Birthday digs are punches given to people on their birthdays. Example if it’s your 12th birthday that’s 12 punches and 1 for good luck. If you don’t like the person you can give them one for bad luck too. You can give your birthday digs another day if you’re not able to give someone their punches on their actual birthday. You have 3 days to give them there punches or it’s classed as abuse.

Being defined- Birthday Digs is an act which allows you to beat up your friend on their birthday without them being able to do anything. Yo it’s jacobs 17th birthday let’s go give him 17 punches” “Nah bro 19 one for good luck n one for bad”
