His work and style continues to influence filmmakers to this day, especially in the independent film industry. He was also a very political filmmaker, and is a known Marxist and Maoist. Thus, he is a controversial figure.

GOBAT

stands for Got Outhealed By A Totem "GOBAT" - Used in World of Warcraft (WoW), when a priest or other such healing class is not healing the party members effectively. Shaman classes has totems that provide a small amount of healing - but shouldn't heal more than healing class. Therefore, if a priest is being outhealed by a totem, s/he's a pretty rotten healer.

Idolization (Shaman): "Priest, I need a heal!"
Priest: "What?"
(Happens repeatedly)
(Priest gets booted from group)
Kolira (Hunter): "Man, he was a GOBAT - your totems helped me more than him!"
