Cheerleading IS A SPORT. If you think otherwise then i would like to see you try it. There is nothing anyother athlete can do that a cheerleader cannot. It is not easy. It takes alot of practice, time and patience to really good at cheerleading. And for those who think cheerleaders are stupid...are WRONG! So people need to stop paying attention to all the sterotypes of cheerleader because you know nothing. Im a cheerleading and i understand if out chants over and over again may become annoying but you should pay attention to the other athletic things we do. Stunting is not easy. It takes alot of time to hit a stunt and the bases have to be strong enough to lift a girl over their head as well as throw them high in the air. Flying isnt easy either. Its very dangerous. Gymnastics is a sport and cheerleaders are gymnicst. We do crazt amazing flips and trust me it is not easy to do. Cheerleaders may not score point on a feild or a court but we score points on a map. So for everyone who thinks it is not a sport, i would like to see you try it because a garrente you will be hurting just after 5 minutes of practice.

Get the Cheerleadingmug. a sport that takes work. people think cheer is where girls just cheer for boys at a football game, and that is part of it. but the actual SPORT of cheer requires hard work.
ever been to a cheer competition. dont judge until you have tried the sport. other athletes lift 50 pound weights, cheerleaders lift 100 pound girlss! walk into a cheer practice and do what we do, THEN you can judge us(:
they show cheerleading on espn, if cheerleading "isn't a sport" then i guess football, basketball, and every other sport they show on there isn't a sport either? think before you open your stupid mouths next time.

Get the Cheerleadingmug. Okay, as a cheerleader of 10 years, and my friend being a cheerleader for 11 years it IS a sport! Every other sport you have a back up, in cheerleading if you hurt yourself in warm up's or someone dosn't show, you don't have a back up, or a second string. To be a cheerleader you have to be able to dance, cheer, jump, stunt, tumble, in front of almost 100 people or more everytime you cheer. You are being judged on every move you make. They don't know how many hours, tears, and heart you put into it. You mess up one time, and it's noticed and they remember it, but if you do it right, chances are they wont. Cheerleading is a way of life, shared by a chosen few,
It is working as a unit in everything you do.
Cheerleading is rivalry, the competition makes you strong,
It is sharing secrets and tears, learning to get along.
Cheerleading is that ongoing drive to be the very best,
It is patience, perseverance, and very little rest.
Cheerleading is having poise and charm with every word you say,
It is total dedication twenty-four hours a day.
It is always being ready with encouragement or a smile,
