2 Electrons One Cup

When a covalent bond breaks and creates a hole in the valence shell of an atom. In this process, trivalent dopant atoms substitute for host atoms in the semiconductor lattice, creating acceptor levels that increase hole concentration.

When a positively charged valence electron is attracted to the negative terminal, a positive electron slips out creating "2 Electrons One Cup replacing a negative electron with a positive. Since two holes can't move in the same direction, you get two electrons one cup.
