They are often bullied severely and as a result, hide behind authorities to avoid bullying. Unlike the teacher's pet, a teacher's hoe has little academic success and aren't brainy, they only suck up to teachers to avoid being bullied. They often have disabilities, and this is a result of 1. The poor treatment of kids with disabilities and 2. A "run-to-teacher" attitude to bullying, where instead of standing up for yourself or fighting your bullies, these poor souls are taught to tattle to the teachers and to ignore the bullying, as a result becoming fully dependent on the teachers. They often become totally socially inept and institutionized in a way, and they can't socialise or function properly due to being pampered by teachers. They often hang out with teachers all the time and become the favorites of the teachers.
