Emo

Something that too many bias bastards should shut the fuck up about! I's whatever you want it to be! It's a lifestyle that doesn't have to include cutting or black hair. You just need to be yourself and act however you want to be. It's a stupid clique that no one should care about! Everyone is equal to the emos! No one is better and no one is worse! Everyone is the same!

I'm an Emo and I have manic depression! But I dress fucking weird!!! Bright clothes and dark clothes!!! Who fucking cares!!!! I'm emo in my own definition!!!!!

Emo

Emo used to mean a genre of emotional music. But now it has two meanings
1. Someone who is just drowning in their own self pity, thinking that they have the worst life EVER1!1!one! They often have usernames like 'Jeeff da killer gf' or 'sad emo burning evil'
Some of them just like the emo fashion others are creepy pasta fangirls who listen to Black Veil Brides and think Jeff the Killer loves them. One such emo is Tara Gilesbie.

2. A certain kind of music which is emotional.

1. a sub-genre of rock music, originated in the 1980s in DC. some emo artists include (but are not limited to) owl city, boys like girls, all american rejects, and jimmy eat world.

2. a style of people. there are many stereotypes, including but not limited to: wearing black 24/7 (there not goth!), worshipping satan, cutting themselves all the time (some emos DONT cut themselves...they just cry), and wanting to die.

Emo

Emo is a very misused term, but very accurate when describing a group of teenagers, young adults, or adults who particularly favor a certain genre of music, a style, or anything else seen to a normal (used very loosely) person as dark and goth.

"Wow, she really likes Black Veil Brides and My Chemical Romance. She's probably emo."

"That person is so emo they threw their phone when Northern Downpour played by Panic! At The Disco."

Emo

Emotive Hardcore is an offshoot from hardcore punk which formed in the late 80s and was played throughout the 90s. The term "emo" was coined to such bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace and other bands with a more melodic hardcore sound and expressive lyrics, although some later bands experimented with a softer indie alternative sound as well. You can also say it was a term to describe the "sound" of the DC area of the time. However, if you ask any of the members, they would highly disapprove of this term and most likely mock it.

Emo is not dying your hair black, piercing your lip, and it's certainly not cutting your wrist, that's just a trend. Emo is a music genre that started in the 90s and ended in the 90s.
