Chinese business student

An undergraduate student from Mainland China who is paying full fees at a Western university for a Bachelor of Commerce equivalent degree. This class of student is an increasingly attractive "cash cow" for universities facing budget cut-backs.

Chinese business students stream themselves into either quantitative subjects e.g. financial management or soft, qualitative offerings e.g. general management. Since they have been admitted more by their ability to pay inflated "full cost" fees than their academic abilities, their ability to speak and write technical English is often poor meaning that they struggle to pass, do not contribute, unreflectively and uncritically rote learn, plagiarize and cluster together in class and socially.

Many are only-child, spoilt "little emperors" who possess immature social skills that are more expected of very young teenagers than adults.

Anyone who is a member of a university business program as either a student or member of faculty will recognize the Chinese business student demographic.

Asian Studies

A course lecturing in the virtues of yellow supremacy, and the delusional outlook on how life would be if orientals had ruled the world. "Asian Studies" majors are typically very whiny about the lack of opportunities of the socially inept Asian male, and the objectification and "theft" of "their women".

Exceptions from the stereotyped zipperhead students, are creepy white guys who have malnourished preteens chained at his kitchen to cook his meals, and "culturally enlightened" folk who congregate together at StarBucks in order to agree on opening new coffee shop chains to preach their "postmodernist" virtues.

Asian Studies Major: Look at me, I scrog self-hating, rice-eatin' chicks with a hyperplatinum credit rating on my Premium Wells Fargo account! Don't fuck with me, nor point out my obvious social insecurities less I drop a six-figure income onto your ass!

Media Studies

Media Studies is an academic discipline which looks into the media industry and the sociological effects it has over the majority. It is a diverse study which is taught at various academic levels such as GCSE, GCE Advanced Level and many university programs.

The study has ties with Humanity based subjects such as Sociology, Psychology and History and ties with Art based subjects such as the Performing Arts, Production Arts and Literature. It is because of this that Media Studies can be considered to be a collaboration of Academia and the Arts.

Unfortunatley because the course is relatively new it is regarded as a 'soft option' by traditionalists. This is however untrue as media studies like any subject requires a lot of practise and understanding in order succeed in.

Person A - "I study the sociological effects the media industry has over the public!"

Person B - "Wow sounds good, whats it called?"

Person A - "Media Studies"

Person B - "Mickey Mouse!"
