father/daddy distinction

The distinction where the word "father" is primarily used in textbooks while "Daddy" in movies. This distinction has first existed in the 2025 Indonesian movie "Panggil Aku Ayah" (meaning "Call Me Father"), which is an adaptation of the 2020 Korean movie "Pawn".

In the classroom, we learned about the father/daddy distinction, and it was hilarious to see how the same character was referred to differently in the movie!

Scrub Daddy

A true man and partner who provides for his mate through the labored love of cleaning. He isn't afraid to get on his knees and scrub between those tiles and has a collection of varied brushes for specific jobs. He will never argue over who's role or job it is to clean what in the house as long as it gets done, followed by getting you done. Scrub daddies can sometimes be born from traumatic military conditioning and/or narcissistic parents so take precautions. A healthy example of a Scrub Daddy is Danny Tanner from Full House.

Sour Daddy

The financial and lifestyle opposite of a Sugar Daddy. Someone who initially *appears* to look like a potential Sugar Daddy, for example posing with other people's expensive cars or wearing a cheap knock off Air Jordans, however upon further conversation or after having met them in person you find out they drive a 10 year old Hyundai and live on their sister's sofa with little or no game plan, and your plan to hopefully have landed a new Sugar Daddy has been thwarted.

Damn girl, I wasted two hours of my life at the Cheesecake Factory last night with this fool only to find out he works at a gas station and lives in his brothers walk-in closet! I can't deal with this Sour Daddy shit no more!
