When students from Asia’s four tigers (Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan) continually rank among the world’s top ten in international education assessments like the Trends in Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)—it is no surprise that the high mathematical proficiency of their citizens has contributed to their countries’ high GDPs.
A common denominator of tiger math nations is their cult-like devotion to education (and tuition)—one of the strong pillars of their economic success stories.

The act of justifying an otherwise irrational purchase, through application of flawed logic, logical fallacies, and liberal use of arithmetical gymnastics; often with little to no true bearing on the actual costs of the purchase, or value at play.
E.g. "If I buy the Porsche 911 instead of leasing it, it should cost less, as I'm amazing at selling cars, and this one's great and will probably increase in value cos it's black. So that's like, erm, $90,000, less what, $10k for depreciation... so yeah I can afford it, it'll only cost me $10k to run the car... Yeah It's kinda man math but yeah!"

This thing is the worst thing you can ever have. Say you take a math test and you didn’t know it was happening and you fail; your parent would get mad at you FOR NOW KNOWING A QUIZ. Another example is that let’s just say that you finish early and your teacher says “did you check your work” and you say no, but you knew all the answers. Your teacher will be like “ GO CHECK YOUR WORK OR YOU HAVE DETENTION”. Another example is that in your future life you won’t need to know how to find circumference, it won’t matter, it’s also boring, like really boring. Finally this is what is stands for. Mindboring, Awful, The, hardest, thing ever set there.

Mental calculation performed prior to an event or "hectic time" in which you try to determine the next opportunity you will have to masturbate.
I did the masturbation math...I leave tomorrow and I know I'll be bunking with a friend. If I don't masturbate tonight, I'll have to wait 8 days until I get home from vacation.

Letters, numbers, and/or symbols that seemingly appear out of no where in relation to given mathematical context.
voodoo math:
Find the equation of the tangent plane to the surface x^2z-y^3z^5+xy=9 at the point P=(1,2,-1).
answer:
Tangent plane at P is z+1=1/3(y-2) or equivalently y-3z=5

When the effort or resourcefulness of tens of thousands of math tutors in Singapore covers up most local school teachers’ poor teaching pedagogies or methodologies and their low enthusiasm or creativity, thus exonerating the latter in making the subject appear dull and boring and unconnected to real life.
If there was a months-long lockdown in Singapore due to the pandemic, except for the thousands of families who can’t afford private tuition for their children, the math grades of the majority of middle-class students wouldn’t significantly suffer, because of a mask for math culture that has permeated the entire educational system for decades.

Math Chem is an intense chemistry course littered with complex math equations and impossibly described concepts that are specially designed to fry the average sophomore's brain. This class is one of the worst on earth, and the experience of math chem is made shittier by the presence of a bitchy teacher who yells at the class if one person doesn't know an ultra-specific piece of majorly overlaoded content that comes from exactly line 50 in chapter 15, section 12 to the left of Figure 15-30. Not knowing that will lower your grade, make your entire class fail, and will lead to suffering in and out of class for all of eternity.
