tech guilt

Similar in concept to white guilt, tech guilt is a growing feeling among tech workers who are buying or renting homes and apartments made available by the eviction of socioeconomic minorities or the gentrification of "transitional neighborhoods" in major tech hubs like Silicon Valley.

Brad: Can you believe my studio apartment in the mission was Section 8 housing one year ago?! My rent is $4000/month! Oh well, I can afford it.

Jill: I hope you're feeling some tech guilt right now.

Surgical tech

The BADASS person in the operating room that keeps the surgeon from killing you. They make sure everything needed to make the surgery run smoothly is in the room. They are the surgeon’s right hand yet they are unknown: the unsung heroes in scrubs. Sometimes they need to be a referee, carpenter, plumber, engineer, psychologist, babysitter, teacher, a hand holder, a smart ass, psychic, and a mind reader: jack of all trades, master of none.... except how to kickass and keep things running smoothly in the high stress OR.

I thought a nurse scrubbed in with the surgeon but it’s a surgical tech!

hermit tech

Modern technology (more specifically home computers and smart devices, audio/video chatting services, messaging services, and remote desktop apps) that allows someone to work in almost complete isolation - mostly in one's own home.

Well I guess I've been preparing for a quarantine for awhile now. With all of my hermit tech, I haven't set foot in an office for YEARS! My coworkers know I'm an email or phone call away, they just don't know exactly where I'm at - and they probably don't need to.

He is the tech lead. He is the source of all initiatives in a software project. Do not question anything he says. Do as he tells you. Because he is the tech lead. There is only one tech lead, even though some people might try to claim the title for themselves.

I am a tech lead, but I surely am not THE tech lead.
