To search for (to google) someone on the internet, out of a social curiosity or a general interest. The phrase implies a benevolent intent. It is meant to convey that the person doing the search is taking care to avoid being intrusive and to respect common social boundaries.

Job Stalking is the phenomenon of employers viewing your job application repeatedly for some reason, but then never reaching out to you in any way. They will view your application multiple times for no reason . One theory is that they see you are qualified, but are biased against folks with a lot of education and not much experience. They want to value your education, but will not reach out because of political correctness and age discrimination for younger recent college grads.
