Businesses are driven by demand & profit, alternated by fluctuations in consumption. Individual activity is independently sufficient & enterprises challenging in an environment of competition. In other terms: Private ownership of the means of the production.

Capitalism is a meritocratic system prioritizing an individuals creativity & talent.
