When you buy the latest piece of technology right before the next model comes out. Thus stuck with a piece of shit compared to the new model.
Sally: "John look I just bought this cool Nook e-reader!"
John: "Nice"
(2 days later)
John:"Hey Sally the new Nook just came out, didn't you just buy..."
Sally: "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccckkkkk"

The Ketchup Effect

The Ketchup Effect is used as a saying when you squeeze the ketchup bottle but can't get anything out, but all of a sudden your whole meat gets soaked in ketchup. It can also be used in other situations.
Dad: So how did the game go last night coach?
Coach: We kept on puching for the whole first quarter, but couldn't get anything to drop, but then in the second quarter we scored on every single play!
Dad: Wow, must have been the ketchup effect.

The North Effect

A fallacy in which one recalls a movie or TV show from childhood thinking it was amazing, but upon rewatching it is actually terrible.

Named after the 1994 movie “North”.
Adam experienced The North Effect when he rewatched “North” starring Elijah Wood. After rewatching it as an adult, Adam experienced severe disappointment after realizing the movie was in fact - fucking terrible.
