The type of fear that basically can cause a person to flee like mad when someone is nearby, even when the person is harmless, and even there is even nothing and nobody in pursuit, and also causes irrational thinking and a lack of reasoning.

Rabbit fear of guns caused people at the local shopping mall to flee and trample over each other when a child's toy balloons popped when hitting the ceiling.

Guys are avoiding that community completely due to the locals' rabbit fear of strangers.
