The act of receiving negative consequences beyond comprehension. This word originates from a middle school in New Britain, Connecticut, where a young man created an alternative word to getting in trouble. He started this in 1973 and it hasn't lingered around for many years. It is time that this word started to come back to the public. Shafting means when you get in a lot of trouble.
1) "You killed your dog! You are going to get shafted!"
2) "Thanks to you we are going to get shafted by the principle!"
3) "Because you broke that vase, you are going to get in big trouble which means you're getting SHAFTED"
