Quotes from Catcher in the Rye:
...Jane said he was supposed to be a playwright or some goddam thing, but all I ever saw him do was booze all the time and listen to every single goddam mystery program on the radio. And run around the goddam house, naked. With Jane around, and all."
"Yeah?" Stradlater said. That really interested him. About the booze hound running around the house naked, with Jane around. Stradlater was a very sexy bastard.
"She had a lousy childhood. I'm not kidding."
That didn't interest Stradlater, though. Only very sexy stuff interested him.
I kept thinking about Jane, and about Stradlater having a date with her and all. It made me so nervous I nearly went crazy. I already told you what a sexy bastard Stradlater was.
Women kill me. They really do. I don't mean I'm oversexed or anything like that--although I am quite sexy. I just like them, I mean. They're always leaving their goddam bags out in the middle of the aisle.
Then I put on another clean shirt. I knew I didn't have to get all dolled up for a prostitute or anything, but it sort of gave me something to do. I was a little nervous. I was starting to feel pretty sexy and all, but I was a little nervous anyway.
I certainly felt peculiar when she did that. I mean she did it so sudden and all. I know you're supposed to feel pretty sexy when somebody gets up and pulls their dress over their head, but I didn't. Sexy was about the last thing I was feeling. I felt much more depressed than sexy.

A word to describe someone who is sexually attractive and gets another aroused. Though often used interchangably with beautiful and cute, sexy is not synonymous with beautiful or cute at all. Hence it is often used at the wrong time and wrong place and directed at the wrong people.

Adj.
Sexually attractive, usually in a more smooth and adult way than cute or pretty. Can describe both genders.
P.S.
It's kind of ridiculous that all of the example pictures are women...did anyone say sexist?

The Todd recognizes sexiness, regardless of gender.

Bob: Not as sexy as you.
