A great bass player and was in Metallica. He sadly died in September 1986 in a bus crash, while sleeping in his bunk on tour. His last album was "Master of Puppets".

The Jimi Hendrix of bass guitar. Born February 10th, 1962 in Castro Valley, California. He was the bassist of Metallica from 1982 to 1986.
Metallica's first album Kill 'em All contained songs already composed before Cliff had joined, but his influence would become heavy on the band's later albums. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets, which were landmarks in the heavy metal genre, both contained songs that were composed and polished to the level of commercial and critical success.
Alas, just like Hendrix, he died young. On September 27th, 1986, during a tour bus ride in rural Sweden, the bus slipped on black ice, causing the bus to overturn, and Cliff was crushed twice, killing him. Since then, the band has had two new bassists, Jason Newsted in 1986, and Robert Trujillo in 2003.

You should hear Cliff Burton's skills on (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth, on the intro of For Whom The Bell Tolls (Yes, it is actually Cliff's bass playing), and on the instrumental Orion.
RIP Cliff Burton

Similar to “Cliff Hangar” but more intense. Cliff Doodle is when you’re on the edge of your seat in anticipation for what’s going to happen next. Overwhelmingly anxious for the next moment, only to be cut short before the scenario is finished.

the sometimes dangerous act of banging someone from behind on the edge of a cliff such that the bangee has to push backwards to avoid going over the cliff
jill: the gravel ground into my knees and made me almost plummet
jack: yeah, that was a real cliff banger. i thought i almost lost you.

An opportunity for politicians to do what they do best: get on TV and scare the bejeezus out of people.
Boehner and Obama got some quality air time on TV while stocks crashed because they can't reach a deal on The Fiscal Cliff.

A fictional creature, similar to a pterodactyl, featured in the video game 'Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind'.
It is also one of the most hated monsters by regular Morrowind players, notably for it's high-pitched screech, inability to die, and the fact that there are almost always more than one of them attacking one's character.
