The phrase weaponizes the concept of resilience, implying that anyone who suffers under extreme conditions is inherently weak. It is used to normalize gangharassment by shifting blame from the perpetrators to the target’s supposed fragility.

Example: “After she described how forty people had been harassing her for weeks, a moderator asked, ‘Don’t you have steel mental health?’—dismissing the trauma of mob abuse as a personal failing.”
