LAN Holiday

Any holiday that is celebrated with a LAN party. It's often done on holidays when students do not have school. The acronym "LAN" is substituted for part of the holiday's name.

I always look forward to the LAN Holiday season. It's the only time of year that I get to gather with my nerd friends in my parents' cold basement for Starcraft and get pissed off to no end because no one can seem to set up the network. We never learn from the year before.

eg. Although the renovation was not halfway done and already behind schedule, the carpenters took a Harper Holiday anyway and still expected to be paid.

eg. John had not studied enough so he Harper Holidayed his mid-term examinations

eg. the Prime Minister saw his popularity declining and risked losing a confidence vote so he declared a Harper Holiday to avoid further investigations and accountability

Holiday 2011

Some weird "timeframe" that the media now uses to indicate when a game will be released. Confusing as shit because Britons don't understand that "Holiday" is an American euphemism for "Christmas"... instead they interpret "Holiday" to mean summertime.

So basically, this term causes meaningless and pointless confusion just because the media and corporations don't want to use the word "Christmas".
