The police are hired to protect the community. Police officers work hard and recieve modest pay to help the community. Despite that, many people treat them with disrespect and look down on them because of the few crooked cops, yet there are bad members of any group or organization. The police generally have to handle idiots that shouldn't be within a mile of a weapon, the people that cause gun-control laws to be established. They work to get rid of drunk idiots, especially ones that are driving 2-ton vehicles at 70 mph. Police officers educate children about safety, they save the lives of many people and put their lives on the line to control disorder. Some people (mainly thugs) hate police officers, they generally spit on them and call them pigs when they don't realize that they would probably be brutally murdured if there were no police. Others don't follow laws because they don't think it applies to them if they think it is a dumb law. There are bad members of the police force, but there are much more good honest police that work hard to help others and the community.

a bunch of fat guys dressed inblue that think they own, run, and know everything. they claim to protect you but they'll arrest you for the stupidest shit andthrow you in jail where its even more dangerous. out of the million police in the world theres maybe 1 or 2 niceones.

People that wear blue or black uniforms who get paid to set people up and plant evidence on them, they actually smoke and use the dope from people they bust on the streets, are racists and beat black men half unconscience, have an addiction to doughnuts, pull motorists over on the road and unfairly give them a ticket because they haven't met their monthly quota, beat their wives and just are hypocrites and just as corrupt as the people they arrest.

Cops: *kicks down door* POLICE! SEARCH WARRANT!!!
One of the Cops: You're under arrest for possession of marijuana.
Person 1: I DIDN'T DO SHIT! POLICE BRUTALITY! *takes last puff* HARASSMENT!
*8 minutes later*
Person 1: ahhh..weed..

A hard working, low paying job that is usually misunderstood. Police officers probably work harder and longer then any other job and still have very little respect.
