Raygun

Raygun (noun): A slang term describing someone who exudes extreme confidence but lacks the necessary skills or talent to back it up. This term often applies to individuals whose boldness and self-assurance lead them to take on tasks or challenges well beyond their capabilities, resulting in outcomes that are more comedic than successful. The term is inspired by instances where overconfidence leads to unintentional humor or failure, making the person a source of amusement rather than admiration.
Example 1: “He walked into the karaoke bar like he was the next superstar, but when he started singing, it was pure Raygun—all swagger, no talent.”
Example 2: “She confidently entered the chess tournament, trash-talking every opponent, but her moves were so bad it was a total Raygun moment. Everyone was laughing by the end.”
