When one member of a relationship fucks up hard, and is forgiven, but is unknowingly put on probation by the other person to see if he/she fucks up again.

Dude1: bro i heard what lisa did to you, shes a total bitch

Dude2: yeah man, i still like her but if she fucks up again its over, we're in a probationship for now

probate

The "coming out" ceremony for those who were pledging, especially in the NPHC. This normally includes masks covering the faces of those who were pledging until they are revealed as the newest member of XYZ. Also, other Greeks will show up, especially those of that sorority or fraternity that the probate is of and their sorors and brothers from other schools as well as their own. Other occurances at a probate are: reciting the Greek alphabet, acknowledging your big sisters or big brothers, the announcement of the line name and ones individual line name. Following this event, which attracts a lot of members, especially of the black race, is a party. Also, the newest members of that organization are showered with memorabilia to keep.

Did you see the Delta probate last Thursday? There were five girls on line and they arrived in police cars.
