Jobber

A character in a piece of media (or occasionally real life), usually anime, who dies or fails in some way to advance the plot. A jobber might die/fail very easily and quickly or might put up a fight, but either way they will die for no narrative reason but for the sake of dying.

Jobber

A loser in wrestling, who loses to the more establish talent, a jobber's role is suppose to put over their opponent in a match. Jobbers get little to no offense against their more establish opponent, and the jobber would lose in minutes or even seconds. Jobbers make the stars look like stars.
Iron Mike Sharpe, Jerry Allen, Scott Casey, Barry Horowitz, S.D Jones, Lanny Poffo, & The Brooklyn Brawler are great jobbers, because they are good at making their opponents look like stars.

jobber rotation

Term used in fantasy baseball. It is the act of picking up starting pitchers (and then dropping them for a new one) in an effort to win the strikeout and wins categories. Usually pitchers available on the waiver wire aren't very good, hence rotating through jobbers.
I'm down 3-1 in wins and 35-20 in strikeouts. Guess I'll have to do a serious jobber rotation the next few days.
