A city farmer can be defined as someone who attempts to portray themselves as a farmer, even though they are from the city and have no affiliation with farming. Common behavioural patterns that are often exhibited by city farmers are as follows: Wearing John Deere or Bass Pro Shop merchandise (usually a hat), Boasting about your truck, wearing plad, packing lips (chewing tobacco) e.t.c... This term was coined in Strathroy, Ontario.

Guy 1: Hey man, checkout steve's John Deere hat, he must be a true farmer!
Guy 2: Nah, he's just another city farmer.
