happy hour

Unrelated to the 'cheap drinks' definition, Happy Hour is a card game that can be highly amusing under the right conditions. It is usually played with a single deck, though multiple decks can be used. Any number of players can participate, and generally the more the better. The game begins with the deck being evenly divided among the players. The object of the game is to get all the cards.

That's it. No other rules.

Gentleman's Hour

Having a session with an escort (hooker/prostitute) for 90 minutes instead of the usual 60 minutes.

Instead of seeing a lady for 60 minutes or 1 hour, seeing her for 90 minutes AKA Gentleman's Hour.

Booking: So would you like to book an appointment for an hour?

Client: I would prefer a Gentleman's hour today.

Booking: Sure, 90 minutes it is, sir.

Hour-Glassing

The term used to define the time you spend staring at a computer screen waiting for your antiquated computer system to load software or web pages that exceed your systems memory and processing capabilities. May also be used to define the blank stare given when someone says or does something incredibly stupid and there is nothing you can do but stare at them.

The first 30 minutes of my day at work is spent hour-glassing.

long hour

A “long hour” refers to the “decimal hour”, equal to 2.4 hours, exactly one tenth of a day, sometimes called a “deciday”. The decimal hour was an official unit of French Decimal Time, during the French Revolution, during the 1790s. Since then there are periodic attepts to revive it. It sometimes features in scifi to represent a futuristic or alternate system of measurement.

The chief said to be there in three hours, but did she mean the old hours or the new long hours?
