punishmeant

Not to be confused with 'punishment,' a word which refers to a penalty or retribution given for some type of offense, punishmeant is way of explaining a type of word-play. If you intend a pun, but it's not exactly a proper pun, it is a pun-ish-meant.

Example:

Punster (after a new-age concert, said to another concertgoer): What a mind-banding experience!

Other person (confusedly): uh. Mind-BANDing?...

Punster: sorry, that was not a good pun... but it was a punishmeant!

Other person (shaking head): um, yeah! For sure! (Hurries away, trying to create as much distance between himself and the 'punishmeanter' as possible)

drug punk

A.) Not just music made by punk rockers who enjoy drugs, but also music that makes it very evident (in ways beside lyrics) how much said punk rockers enjoy using drugs.

B.) A practitioner of this music. Often lives a lifestyle according to this.

Flipper were only one quintessential example of a drug punk band.

stem punk

term used to describe a subculture and movement of ecological activists rooted in the punk scene. It is a play on the term steam punk.

Stem punks engage in radical green activism by planting flowers and trees in urban spaces to improve communities, like making seed bombs or seed bombing.

Boston Punk Zombies

Undercover police who do a terrible job trying to poseur their way into a "scene" to stop an imagined scourge of victimless non-crime.

The origin comes from a risible email exchange in March of 2013.

We just talked with those dudes outside whining to find "the awesome party." Total Boston Punk Zombies. Let's give 'em the address of a Dunkin' Donuts in Allston.

Champagne Punk

"Champagne punk" simply infers that it is punk of the highest calibre, deriving from the saying, "a champagne moment" that means a very fine moment indeed. More often referred to in terms of comedy, for example David Letterman's fan site is called 'champagne comedy'.

"Champagne punk" (adjective) should not be confused with Chardonnay Punk(group noun). Champagne is a symbol of celebration for the middle and lower classes, whereas chardonnay which is traditionally associated with the upper classes has been used derogatorily to describe rich left wing persons that self-identify with the working classes, i.e.: "That chardonnay sipping hippy!".

This confusion is somewhat understandable due to the existence of the term champagne socialist, however because most punks do in fact come from middle class backgrounds, the comparison doesn't stand up on close examination. To confuse these two terms is not necessarily indicative that one is a dumb punk. However, it would be more accurate to instead refer to particularly socio-economically disadvantaged people who are members of the broader punk scene as gutter punks, to avoid ambiguity.

Fool Punk

When someone commits an act which is rather dum dum, you simply call them a 'Fool Punk'

Alan: "What is the time?"
Joe: "Eh I don't know, 3 a'clock?"
Alan: "Its o'clock, you fool punk"
Joe: "Okay" *visibly sad*
Everyone: "What a fool punk!"
