Get the Furry mug.A sub-culture (fandom) that likes the art and/or animation of anthropomorphic characters (any character with human characteristics like ones who can stand on two legs, or can speak). There are actual real species as well as fictional species in the fandom i.e .: wolf, dragon, etc.. anyone can be in the fandom because they are the most accepting fandom there is. The only thing they don't accept are zoophiles and pedophiles. All they try to do is make people happy especially kids who wish that those characters were real. The people who are furries do this as a hobby and most of them are first responders, in the military, work in IT departments, or are everyday people.
Person 1: Anyone who likes the art and/or animation of Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny from Loony Tunes or Simba from the Lion King are possibly furries.
Person 2: So if I like the art and animation of the characters from Zootopia does that make me a furry?
Person 1: It most definitely means you're a furry.
Person 2: So what do I do now?

People who use the term "furry" in a negative way often do so because they believe that furries are strange, weird, or even perverted. They may also believe that furries are sexually attracted to animals, which is true for a portion of the community, another bad portion of a furry community are pedophiles, people attracted to minors, however these portions are not all of the community. A large portion of the community have fetishes.
