Friday the 13th

1)n. A day that is said to be cursed. This day is said to be cursed because it is associated with the number 13, said to be unlucky. While any day that takes place on the 13th day of a month can be unlucky, Friday is chosen as the unlucky day because the superstistious people who believe in the nonsenical legend of Friday the 13th in the first place wanted so badly to screw up the second best day of the week.

This day, for some, can be like any other day, and for others might turn out better than other normal days. Any unlucky occurences that occur on this day are entirely coincidential.

2)n. A friday like any other, it just happens to fall on the 13th of the month.

3)n. The title of a film that is a reference to the above mentioned day and the bad luck it brings. This film was released in 1980 and is an early film in the slasher genre. In this film the mother of a boy who drowned while swimming at Camp Crystal Lake goes on a killing spree on her sons birthday, which falls on Friday the 13th

John: "I know! Today's thursday but we still get to skip school legally due to random holidays!"
