most likely eluding to an event that happened in the 90's when VHS was used to record important events.
phrase is used heavily by former high school athletes when discussing their glory days

Bill and Greg are in an argument over Bill's high school football stats:
Bill: I ran for 220 yards that game, got some mad pussy that night.
Greg: Sure you did....
