A form of commentpost specifically designed to generate more comments—controversial opinions, inflammatory statements, deliberately ignorant questions, or "hot takes" crafted to provoke outrage and engagement. Commentbait is the engine of platform engagement metrics: the more comments, the more the algorithm promotes the post, the more comments it generates. Commentbaiters don't care what you say, as long as you say something. They're not trying to convince or communicate; they're trying to capture attention, generate metrics, and feed the machine. Every "unpopular opinion" thread, every "am I the only one who..." post, every deliberately wrong answer on a help forum—commentbait, all of it. The commentbaiter has learned that engagement is its own reward, and that the best way to get engagement is to make people angry enough to type.

Example: "The post was simple: 'The earth is actually flat and here's why.' No evidence, no argument, just a claim designed to trigger. And trigger it did—thousands of comments, millions of views, days of engagement. The poster never responded to any of it. They didn't need to. Commentbait had worked: the algorithm loved it, the platform promoted it, and the poster walked away with the only currency that matters—attention."

Noun. A person in a forum/comment section who goes on a massive tangent regarding a certain topic. Typically covering every minute detail and sometimes (but not always) using overly sophisticated language.

Basically people who go into YouTube comment sections and type meaningless and braindead shit like "Bro fell off", "I was born in the wrong generation", "Damn is 🤣🎉", "Don't check my profile", "5000+ Aura" "Those who know", "We got ____ Before GTA six", "The beat: 🗿 The song: 🗿 The producer: 🗿", "Anyone else here in (Current Year)?" And finally, the worst, most horrible comment you can find on YouTube: "(Statement) Like if you agree 👇".

Comment Copier

Comment Copier: A person who finds an original comment online, copies and pastes it elsewhere, and posts it as their own to gain likes and approval. Often, this results in a cycle of verbal garbage, making the comment sections messy and less engaging. It’s essentially a new form of cyber graffiti and, for some bizarre reason, it gets loads of likes. It clutters up the whole internet. Basically, it's yesterday's news, normally used. Alot by Facebook friend collectors a lot to the untrained eye, they look clever and witty. One of the worst forms of this is on the YouTube music videos comment section stating listening to this stating the current year or sometimes, far into the future
