The Carti Effect

When you listen to a song and don’t know how you feel about it, but you then find yourself listening to that song over and over again, until you fall in love with the song/artist
I first experienced The Carti Effect when I listened to Long Time by playboi carti. A day later it was the only song I wanted to hear, and was constantly playing in my head

Frank's Effect

a term describing an intriguing social phenomenon where an individual, like Mrs. Frank, unknowingly attracts unwanted attention, particularly from individuals expressing inappropriate familiarity. In workplace settings, Frank's presence seems to act as a magnet, drawing people to their desk, and or have them utter phrases like "That's my BOO Thang," despite lacking any genuine connection. Despite efforts to deter such interactions, Frank finds themselves continuously besieged, highlighting the challenge of maintaining boundaries and navigating social dynamics in environments where one's mere presence invites unwelcome attention.
"Be careful where you sit in the office; it's like Frank's Effect is in full swing today, with everyone flocking around Lisa's desk and declaring 'That's my BOO Thang' as if it's the new catchphrase."

Lewcatch Effect

A psychological phenomenon where a large number of people mispronounce words they grew up pronouncing. The effect was named after Tyler Lucas, a second generation Hungarian-American. His grandfather immigrated from Hungary to the United States in the early 1930s and his surname was Americanized from Lukács to Lucas.
"Hey do you like Dr. Suess?" - Kyle

"Yeah I like Dr. Suess, did you know his last name is actually pronounced SOICE?" - Alex

"You're joking right?" - Kyle

"You're as wrong as the deuce / And you shouldn't rejoice / If you're calling him Suess/ He pronounces it Soice." - Alex

"Okay, I buy it. What do you call the phenomenon where you grow up pronouncing words incorrectly?" - Kyle

"It's called the Lewcatch Effect. Named after the future 48th President of the United States." - Alex

"The future is now!" - Kyle

Substitute Teacher Effect

When a struggling sports team fires their coach, and a new coach comes in and the team initially does really well.

Everyone is all smiles, the new coach tries new things, is fun and upbeat, and seemingly *changes the culture* so the team performs really well.....until they don't.

The few good games are due to excitement, and once the substitute teacher has to be a real teacher, fails spectacularly because he actually has to teach.
Boris: Oh fuck, you see how the new coach has turned this team around. I told you the old guy sucked.

Edgar: Meh, it is the Substitute Teacher Effect, come back to me in 3 months. Team is just playing well. New guy can't coach.

3 months later.....

Edgar: Team sucks, and coach looks really constipated.

Boris: Ya, you were right. Substitute Teacher Effect wins again.
