DSW stands for Developmental Services Worker, and is similar to a PSW (personal support worker) except for the fact that a DSW specializes in supporting people with developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Cerebral Palsy, etc.
Tom: So what college program are you in again?
Bill: DSW.
Tom: Oh that’s where you help elderly people, right?
Bill: Close, you’re thinking of PSW, I support people with disabilities across the span of their whole lives.
