When a person dates lots of people just for fun and doesn't see them as boyfriend/husband or girlfriend/wife material and often doesn't even feel any attraction to the people they are dating.

Person 1) Wow, didn't we just see Tiffany at the mall yesterday with Josh? Why is she at the movies with Andrew when she specifically said she didn't like him?

Person 2) Well... She's into Recreational Dating.

Mutual feelings to each other. Not really in a relationship at this point but with high posibility of long term. No commitments yet but shows respect to its potetial by not seeing anyone else. Sometimes even avoids interactions with others that would represent an opportunity.

The bad part of a deal, the short end of the stick. When someone gets the boat date, they are getting screwed over.

Comes from VH1 reality shows like "Flavor of Love" or "Rock of Love" where the competition gets down to the final two contestants and the one who goes on a date involving a boat is typically eliminated.

New York got the boat date, so Flav chose Deelishis.

Amber got the fun date, and Daisy got the boat date, so she was eliminated.

I can't believe my co-worker got the promotion and I got the boat date!
