A person who is highly intellectual and is often socially accepted by peers of his type. Do not be mistaken by a geek who is socially Unaccepted by everyone and usually is bullied for being un intellectual and and obsessive compulsive for playing World of Warcraft.

1. nerd (n.) - one who takes an insult of a game, movie, or book so personally that they, in response, lash out at the person who insulted it with ad hominem attacks and insults (usually involving the slandering of their mother, their sex life, or their copulative organ)

Someone who, in lack of real friends, turns to computers or video games for a companion. Usually thinks their intelligence makes them better than everyone else. A conversation involving two or more people (nerds) possessing a high-level of knowledge, expertise, and passion in particular subject matter, where individuals of lesser understanding in the same subject matter are not included or removed. The nerd-to-nerd conversation is especially useful when burdensome managers and bureaucratic roadblocks have caused a simple meeting or discussion to become needlessly overcomplicated.
