An absolute shithole of a place located somewhere between the villages of arse end and of nowhere.
This place offers many attractions such as the local link to Roscommon and Longford, robbing boats, taking bikes that were never yours but are now, the town is mainly known because the river Shannon goes through it.
Lanesborough is such a kip that Roscommon did not want all of it so it shares it with Longford.
The scenery in Lanesborough can be quite unusual as it can either be the sight of wind turbines or the local prostitutes, if you ever go through Lanesborough (because obviously your not stopping in this Kip) PLEASE AVOID THEM!!!
If you don’t know what they look like, rest assured you will be able to tell.
This town has recently come into having heaps of Ukrainian, as someone that has always lived here (unfortunately), it is an absolutely vile site.
One thing I can say for sure is that if you can, avoid it but if you can’t then good luck.
You will also find that it has a healthy dose of random violence that is usually sorted by one man.
The Garda in Lanesborough are only here to look the part, if you ever ask them for help they will say, please hold, while your call is transferred to Longford.
