Defenestration

The act of throwing someone out of a window, otherwise know as every 9th grade English teacher's favorite word. They will often give a demonstration on how it works on the student who doesn't understand after a week.

Student 1: Did you see what happened to Jack?
Student 2:Did the crazy English teacher have to demonstrate defenestration again?
Student 1: Yeah...how did you know?
Student 2: I've experienced the pain of being thrown out of that second story window.

The action of throwing someone out of a window; the action of dismissing someone from a position of power or authority. It’s Latin and is devised by putting “de-” (down from) with “fenestra” (window).
