3rd February 1959, the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson and the pilot Roger Peterson's lives were claimed in a plane crash just minutes after taking off from Clear Lake. This was, and still is, known as 'The Day Music Died'.
