bank statement

(noun)-the act of missing a shot over the cross bar in soccer and having to chase the ball down.

(verb)-missing an easy shot and cussing because you have to chase your ball 50 yards from where you were.

Person 1: "Shoot!"

Person 2: *Shot* and ball flies away

Person 1: HAHA! BANK STATEMENT!

Person 2: *%$@! Can you get my ball please?

trump statement

To make a statement with no evidence to backup your claim and then ignore requests for evidence until it goes away. Also allows an option if caught out, to pretend you never said it. If evidence is produced, ignore it until it goes away.

(Man 1) Global warming is cased by dolphins. (Man 2) That sounds like a trump statement... what proof do you have? (Man 1) What are you talking about? (Man 2) You just said global warming is caused by dolphins? (Man 1) I never said that. I would never say that.

The opposite of a 'statement win' in sports: a defeat so bad it proves how bad a team really is, especially a team previously thought to be not so bad.

Yeah, I'd say losing by 31 points to the Panthers qualifies as a statement loss.

artist statement

A writing from the artist that explains there work to some degree, usually fraught with words that they nor the viewer know. It does also typically include formal elements of the work, themes, and contextual information. More typically these statements of less than a page leave readers more confused than when they viewed the artists work, as the artist explains their work as if they were on LSD.

That artist statement is amazing, I can't even tell if I am a self-aware human being right now.

Andy Warhol said that he did not need an artist statement, "there is nothing behind it".
