Pronounced "Star - Knee".Derogatory term for people of Pakistani origin. Taken from pronouncing this "Parky-Starni". Applied to anyone of Indian / Asian origin.
Thought to have begun in the Birmingham area of England in the early 1990's.
Plural : Starnies.

I don't like the look of the new neighbours, they look like Starnies.

Staring Rights

An incidental, innocent gaze at someone where your head has to turn less to see them, than their's does to see you. More head turn means less staring rights, for example. Adds more uncomfortability factor if you have to turn your head to gaze at someone, they notice you looking and they're WTF'ing at you.

Best done while waiting for a train or something that requires glancing in one direction continually where the person you want to check out is also in that direction.

I was at the diner yesterday and I tried to check this girl out a bit better, but she noticed me looking over and had the staring rights on me.

Starz

great big-hair band from the 70's. They were not as famous as they should have been. they were 10 years ahead of their time but not recognized for it because big-hair bands didn't become famous for years later. Starz was signed to Capitol Records in 1976. The original line up included vocalist Michael Lee Smith (brother of Rex Smith, vocalist for REX, and later a popular actor), Richie Ranno (formerly with Stories) on guitar, Brendan Harkin on guitar, Peter Sweval (Piet Sweval) (b. 13 April 1948, Toms River, New Jersey) on bass, and Joe. X. Dube (Jeff Grob) on drums.
