Me: Wish you were here

Me: go kill yourself.

Pink Floyd

A British progressive rock band that formed in the late 1960s and toured until 1995, albeit with the mid-80s departure of bassist and singer Roger Waters. Despite the nearly 30 year career, most of the band's famous works were released in the 1970s. Their lyrics and sound have been both praised and critisized for being very trippy and unique. It often takes patience to enjoy Pink Floyd music, as many of their songs are very long and slow.

The band has some of the most recognizable logos in music history, including the famous cover of the 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon, the crossed-hammer logo from the 1984 movie version of the album The Wall, and the flying pig from the cover of the 1977 album Animals.

Notable works include Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), and The Wall (1979).
- Do you listen to Pink Floyd?
- No, I'd rather listen to fast paced, loud, hard rock 'n roll. Y'know, like Guns 'n Roses or Audioslave.
- Oh, they're good, too.

Pink Floyd Fan

Share definition
Someone who likes Pink Floyd enough to fit under the definition of being a fanatic (which is commonly shortened into 'fan'). Casual listeners who can't even properly name the songs they like need not apply.

See also 'Fan':
–noun
an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pastime, celebrity, etc.

Antonym:

Casual listener.
Poser #1: ANYONE WHO LIKES ONE SONG BY A BAND IS A FAN.

Pink Floyd Fan: Actually, if you use the English language and abide by the use of the word 'fan', you have to be an enthusiast to call yourself one. Enthusiasts know the song by name, not by the catchy chorus, just like they know the band by their catalog, not by the singles.

Poser #2: YOU SAID ALL POPULAR MUSIC IS BAD AND I CAN'T USE PROPER GRAMMAR.

Pink Floyd Fan: Actually, I don't have any problems with popular music, I just have problems with people who talk about how much they love a band when they only know five of their songs. And if you can't grasp grammar, don't attempt to define words and phrases in a public forum.

Pink Floyd T-Shirt

What I am wearing right now, and NOTHING is going to change that. It's not a 'PINK FLOYD T SHIRT' It's the cover art for Dark Side of the Moon; their greatest album. Millions of these shirts have been sold, just like the album it's based on. If you think that makes me emo, think again.

PINK FLOYD STILL FIRST IN SPACE
My dad and HIS dad had this shirt. And anyone who thinks thats gay, is gay themselves. Stop calling it a Pink Floyd T-shirt, ass fuck.

One of the greatest bands of all time. Their music does have something for just about everyone, from the playful psychedelic stuff of Syd Barrett to the serious, deep stuff of Roger Waters, or the popish sound of Dave Gilmour after Waters left. The only people who think Pink Floyd is a stoner band that only stoners listen to are the close-minded people who know absolutely nothing about the music. "The Wall"(1979) is probably the best concept album of all time with "Tommy" by The Who close behind. "Dark Side of the Moon" (1973) and "Animals"(1977) are about society and the injustices within it. "Wish You Were Here"(1975) is a tribute their founder, Syd Barrett. They broke up 24 years ago but that will all change with their performance at Live 8 on July 2,2005; a day I have waited for all my life!
Members:
Syd Barrett (guitar, 1967-1968)

Roger Waters (bass, 1967-1980;Present)
