Civil liberties are protections from the power of governments. Examples include:
* freedom of speech,
* freedom of the press,
* freedom of assembly,
* freedom of unwarranted searches by the government,
* trial by jury, and even
* freedom to own an AK.

That's OK, you can have my civil liberties Mr. Ashcroft. I wasn't using them anyway. At least I still have my AK.

libertines

The Libertines are a British indie pop rock band fronted by Carl Barât and Peter Doherty. The band split up in 2004 after having trouble with Pete's drug addiction. The two other members are Gary (drums) and John (bass) who is now the frontman of a band called Yeti. They were an amazing band and most fans hope they'll get back together again someday although it seems very unlikely.

The Libertines used to be one of the best bands in England.
