Get the Galaxy Collapse mug.1. The original science-fiction comedy. Written by the late Douglas Adams, HGttG incorporated poignant observations about the nature of Life, the Universe and Everything with ridiculous slapstick. It began as a radio show, but was later made into a book trilogy in five parts. The one steadfast rule of the series is that logic and causality are for sissies.
2. A fictional device similar to a PDA which contains an encyclopedic database about everything you could possibly want to know about, written by underpaid or unpaid people not really concerned with accuracy (much like UrbanDictionary). It comes in a box that has the words "DON'T PANIC!" in large, friendly letters.

Widely felt to have lost most of the humor and pacing of the original in the process of adapting the material to an American audience. The death of Douglas Adams (and subsequent editing of the script by others) may have played a part in this.

Get the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy mug.Someone who is "galaxy minded" sees the bigger picture of things. They are very understanding, because they view things in different perspectives. They're usually good writers, poets, artists etc. They often have big imaginations, and little things are important to them. They're passionate, fun, and strong willed. They're dominately original, but sometimes they like to follow the trends. They're known as "different" or "weird", in a good way. You can fall in love with them easily. They usually harbor a lot of secrets, and they can indure a lot of pain, but they almost always look happy. They're good at acting, so you wouldn't be able to tell if they're lieing about something or not, but they usually always tell the truth because they know what it's like to be lied to. They see things in a deeper more meaningful way than most. You can be attracted to these people because they're always wanted around, even if you don't talk to them, their presence soothes you. They have a lot of friends, but trust only a select few. If you're close with someone who's galaxy minded; you're fortunate, if they're in love with you; you're blessed, when they love, THEY LOVE.
Short and simple: If you're galaxy minded, that basically means you have a beautiful mind.
